Emotional Regulation
Our children’s capacity to properly regulate their emotions affects their relationships with peers and family members, academic performance, well-being and chances of success in our complex world today. At Bearie Learning Space, we adopt Dealings with Feelings, a practical programme to impart emotional regulation skills for children and adolescents based on the principles of Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT). Your child will learn to replace negative thought patterns with more productive ones.
What is Cognitive Behavioural Therapy for Children?
After a collaborative effort between the parent, child and the therapist, a discussion will be held to set goals and develop a treatment plan.

CBT involves a structured approach to remedy problems in a number of sessions. It can be as few as 6 sessions or as many as 20 or more, depending on the child and the specified goals.

While CBT is a type of talk therapy, it is so much more than talk. The therapist will work to provide tangible ways for your child to take control and empower themselves. They will teach skills that can be put into practice immediately.

Your child can have CBT alone or in combination with any other therapies they may need. The treatment plan can be adapted to accommodate to the child's specific needs.
