Profile

Mary began her career as an Early Childhood Educator in a Montessori setting.  During her experience in the preschool setting, she has met a number of children with learning difficulties. This has spurred her to move to an Early Intervention setting to help reach the potential of these children.  Her 10 years of experience as an Early Intervention Teacher gave her the opportunity to teach a diverse group of students with Autism, ADD/ADHD, GDD, and speech delays. With relevant training and experience, she has acquired skills in differentiated instruction, assistive technology, and multi-sensory lesson planning to meet the needs of every child.

Mary recognises that every child learns in their own ways, so she adapts to the way each child learns to craft individualised goals.  She firmly believes that learning through play is an important opportunity for children to acquire academic and social skills which develops their emotional expression and regulation.  As such, she customs to the interest of the child to motivate their learning through a structured environment that caters to their learning needs.  At the same time, she recognises the importance of collaboration with parents and constantly updates parents on strategies to work with their child at home.
