Profile
Tammy conducts speech and language assessment, group therapy and individual therapy for children with speech, language and communication needs (SLCN). She has years of clinical experience working with preschoolers and students from both special schools and mainstream primary and secondary schools. It includes children with Developmental Language Disorder (DLD), Dyslexia, Global Developmental Delay (GDD), Autism Specturm Disorder (ASD) and Attention-Deficit/ Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD). Besides centre-based therapy, Tammy has also conducted therapy services in school settings such as Northlight School and Assumption Pathway School. She uses evidence-based approaches and techniques to help children improve their language skills, speech clarity and social communication, while placing emphasis on making therapy sessions fun and engaging.
Tammy believes in working closely with all stakeholders in providing holistic support for each child to achieve his or her communication goals. To reach out to more parents, caregivers and educators, Tammy has conducted numerous courses and trainings on understanding SLCN and written online articles on communication strategies.

In 2021, she conducted a workshop at the Dyslexia Association of Singapore (DAS) Preschool Seminar on the topic of using prompts to support children in conversations, which taught participants to implement strategies to communicate more effectively with children while also increasing their language learning. Tammy is also a Clinical Educator to students of the Bachelor of Science in Speech and Language Therapy degree programme at the Singapore Institute of Technology (SIT).
Outside of her clinical work, Tammy is a mother to a toddler. Being a mother enables Tammy not only to approach her work with even greater purpose, but also connect with parents and caregivers on a deep and authentic level.
